About Us
Light of the World School is dedicated to helping young people grow in the knowledge of a Christian faith and how to live that faith in their everyday life. To accomplish this, our students will be introduced to the readings of God’s Word, and chapel activities while providing an educational curriculum and extra-curricular activities in a Christ-filled environment.

Dramatic play centers, fine-motor work, and plenty of gross motor play.
We focus on the whole child, developing growth in the cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual areas through play based centers. Play-based learning plays an important role in the development of healthy social and emotional habits in children. When children play with other children, they learn to cooperate, communicate, and engage with their peers in a way that ensures they feel part of their young community.
Age-appropriate activities like sorting, fingertip grasping, and basic shape classification foster the development of gross and fine motor skills.

Curriculum
Rhythm, Worship, and Sign Language
In Rhythm and Worship, children will recognize simple musical terms and symbols and how they can be used while singing or playing instruments to glorify God.
Through sign language, children will learn to communicate feelings, wants, and needs, and talk about their day.
Bible-Based Science and Art
Students will listen to Bible stories, create art, participate in fun activities, and perform science experiments related to that month’s Fruit of the Spirit. Our science curriculum is Bible-based and sure to foster a love for all things STEM!
Spanish
Includes music, games, storybooks, and art projects. We focus on learning the days of the week, months, seasons, colors and weather. Children learn key words and derive meaning through stories, songs and pictures.
Letterland®
Letterland introduces the alphabet letter shapes and sounds, expands vocabulary step-by-step, and explores phonemic awareness.
Handwriting Without Tears®
This unique curriculum uses multisensory techniques and research-based methods to help students develop skills in forming letters — from prewriting to printing to cursive.
Math Their Way®
Children gain insight into mathematical patterns in the way they relate to the world. We teach arithmetic at every child’s level individually, so the class as a whole can achieve success. Seasonal and topical themes make it fun!
Chapel
We base our chapel curriculum on the Fruits of the Spirit. Each month the children will be introduced to a new fruit, and hear Bible stories that relate, learning what it looks like to live out their faith through thoughts, words, and actions that are pleasing to God.
